Tesla Model 3 used price: how values move across Europe

Tesla Model 3 used price trends across Europe: depreciation, price cuts, version and battery effects, and how dealers set a selling price.

· 6 min read

The Tesla Model 3 used price in Europe in October 2026 runs from around €18,600–22,900 for a typical 2019 car to around €34,100–41,100 for a 2024–2025 car, with a median of €27,950 across all years in the nine markets MyCarDealer tracks. Model year and mileage explain most of the spread; version, battery health, Tesla's new-car pricing and the country you sell in explain the rest.

How much is a used Tesla Model 3 worth?

A used Model 3 is worth what comparable cars are selling for in your market this month, and that moves faster than for most cars. According to listings tracked by MyCarDealer in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Italy, France, Austria, Spain and Sweden in October 2026, the asking prices were:

Model year Listings Median asking price Middle half of prices Median mileage
2019 347 €20,900 €18,600–22,895 132,600 km
2022 290 €28,990 €26,990–31,174 72,300 km
2024–2025 277 €36,750 €34,149–41,072 40,000 km
All years 1,919 €27,950 €22,950–31,990 79,900 km

Two points stand out. First, the gap between a 2019 and a 2022 car is about €8,000, roughly €2,700 per model year. Second, the middle half of prices for any one year spans several thousand euros, which is where version, mileage, battery and condition make the difference.

These are asking prices, not transaction prices. Expect cars to sell somewhat below them, and the gap to widen for cars that have been on the market for a long time.

Why did used Model 3 prices fall?

Used Model 3 prices fell mainly because Tesla cut new-car prices, more used supply arrived from fleets and leases, and newer EVs entered the market. Each of these pushes values down independently.

  • New-car price cuts. In January 2023, Tesla Germany cut the Model 3's starting price by €6,000 to €43,990 and the Long Range to €53,990. Used values reset to the new, lower ceiling within weeks. Further changes and incentives since then have had the same effect on a smaller scale.
  • Fleet and lease returns. Many Model 3s were registered by companies and rental firms. They return to the market in waves after three or four years.
  • Competition. New and used EVs from European, Korean and Chinese brands give buyers more choice at the same price.
  • Technology changes. The 2023-onward "Highland" model made earlier cars look older, and buyers notice features such as the heat pump on cars from 2021 onwards.

How do versions and battery size affect price?

The version matters, but less than many sellers expect. Within a model year, Long Range and Performance cars generally sit towards the top of the price range and RWD cars towards the bottom. The premium is much smaller than the original price-list gap, because buyers pay for usable range and condition rather than specification.

Battery health often outweighs the version. A Long Range with a heavily degraded battery offers little more real range than a healthy RWD, and buyers price it accordingly. When you value a car:

  1. Identify the version from the documents and the software screen, not the badge.
  2. Check battery health with a proper test; see our EV battery health check.
  3. Compare only with cars of the same version, year ±1 and similar mileage.
  4. Adjust for wheels, tyres, colour and optional features such as tow bars.

Software features like Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self-Driving Capability add less on the used market than they cost new. Treat them as a selling point, not as a reason to raise the price significantly.

Where in Europe are used Model 3s cheapest?

In October 2026, the Netherlands had the lowest median asking price of the large markets we track and Belgium and Spain the highest. Across all model years:

Country Listings Median asking price
Netherlands 510 €25,950
France 86 €25,999
Poland 90 €26,902
Austria 101 €26,990
Sweden 274 €27,261
Germany 289 €27,900
Italy 213 €29,299
Belgium 235 €29,990
Spain 121 €29,990

Source: listings tracked by MyCarDealer, October 2026. These medians mix model years and mileages, so a lower median can partly reflect older cars on sale. Compare the same year and version before you decide to import.

Cross-border buying only pays if the gap survives transport, registration taxes and paperwork. Our guide to electric car prices across Europe shows how to compare markets, and the Netherlands in particular is a large source of used Teslas.

How dealers set the Tesla Model 3 used price

Set the selling price first, from current listings, and work backwards to your maximum buying price. Valuation tables that are updated monthly or quarterly can miss a Tesla price change completely.

  1. Selling price: the median asking price for the same version, year ±1 and similar mileage in your country, adjusted for condition and battery health.
  2. Costs: reconditioning, tyres, a battery report, transport, auction fees.
  3. VAT: a car bought under the margin scheme is taxed only on your margin (Articles 311–343 of the VAT Directive 2006/112/EC); a VAT-qualifying car bought from a business can be sold with full VAT.
  4. Margin and risk: add a buffer for possible new-car price changes during your holding time.
  5. Maximum bid: what is left after the above.

MyCarDealer calculates the market price from current listings in your country and the net margin after VAT and costs, and shows the maximum bid at auction. You can value one car for free on the homepage.

Once the car is in stock, watch the market weekly. If comparable cars are selling below your price, follow a clear used car price reduction plan rather than waiting.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a used Tesla Model 3 worth?

In October 2026, a 2019 Model 3 had a median asking price of about €20,900 and a 2024–2025 car about €36,750 across nine European markets. The exact value depends on version, mileage, battery health and the country you sell in.

Why did used Model 3 prices fall?

Mainly because Tesla cut new-car prices, for example by €6,000 in Germany in January 2023, while large numbers of fleet and lease cars returned to the market and competing EVs arrived. Used values followed new prices down.

Is the Long Range worth more than the RWD on the used market?

Yes, but usually by less than the original price difference. Battery health and mileage often matter more than the version, so compare like for like.

Where in Europe are used Model 3s cheapest?

In October 2026, the Netherlands had the lowest overall median asking price among the large markets MyCarDealer tracks, at €25,950. Always compare the same model year and version, and include transport and registration costs before importing.

Will used Model 3 prices fall further?

Used prices will keep falling with age and mileage, and any new-car price cut or incentive from Tesla can cause a sudden drop. Keep holding times short and check new-car pricing before buying stock.
